  • What I've come to figure out is that they're only two times that guys are comfortable with being homoesque.  The first time is when they're piss ass drunk.  Guys tend to be all comfortable with each other when they're drunk, buying all these guys they don't know drinks.  You ever notice that guys tend to be more touchy feely with each other, putting their arms around each other's necks and having all these new best guy friends?

The second time I notice guys being like this is at the gym.  They're always complementing other guys on how cut they look.  At the gym last week, I noticed these two dudes flexing for each other and showing each other's muscles off.  They were touching each other's muscles, oohhhing and ahhhing.  Damn that was weird or maybe they were just gay.

  • So I hopped into one of those shared car services when I got out of the airport to head home.  Usually they take a couple people back but since I came in on a late flight, I was one of the only few that needed a ride.  It's usually cheaper than a cab but often at times very sketchy on who's driving these cars.  Take example tonight.  I hopped into the car and first thing I notice was an open bottle of smirnoff ice in the front seat.  Guy looks ok, some big black dude, but I'd expect something stronger than smirnoff ice from him.  I tell him where to go and then make small chit-chat with him.  By this time I'm pretty exhausted and don't really notice him driving in the middle of two lanes.  The guy's booking it too driving like 80 on a 50mph.  I don't think he's ever been in my neck of the woods, so he was slowing down a bit and taking a look around at the surroundings as if I'm on some Hollywood bus tour.  At least he got me home in record time and in one piece, but I think my heart skipped a beat or two.  Man, it's good to be back haha.

  • I went home early to work from the hotel, since I wasn't feeling too good at work.  There wasn't much to do and since my manager is back, he can now take over some of things that were on my plate.  It'll be nice to be back home in VA for Tet and then I finally get some home-cooked food.  I found this new place to eat in Dallas and was so excited to get home to try it while it was nice and hot that as I was running into the hotel from the parking lot that I slammed into the driver's side mirror and have this huge bruise on my arm now hahaha.  All I cared about was just getting to my room and trying my food.  Me and food man, you should see me when I'm deprived of food too.

Anyhoo, it's time for a nap and to rest up some.  Me thinks I got the flu.

  • Being sick and traveling on the road sucks.  I felt fine till yesterday morning when I woke up with a sore and scratchy throat.  By the time I got back to the hotel from work last night, my body was aching and then I started having cold chills.  I went to a Japanese restaurant hoping to get some soup, but they didn't have any so instead go sashimi.  Not a good idea when you're sick.  That killed my stomach.  Loaded up on meds and was knocked out last night for like an hour then woke up at least a dozen times cause my body felt cold.  Too bad my manager is on vacation, and I'm covering for him else I'd call in sick.  Can't wait till the weekend.

  • What a great relaxing weekend of golfing.  All I did was golf and have a few drinks with some coworkers.  I think I can only take so much of hanging out with my coworkers cause they're getting freaking annoying.  A bunch of them called my hotel room at 3am to get some stuff out of my fridge and didn't even apologize for waking me up and drunk dialing.  Then they came into my room and started raiding the fridge.  WTF.  I had to wake up at 6am to go golfing and boy was I freaking pissed.  If it's one thing that annoys me, it's people waking me up at the wee hours of the morning for no reason and making me lose sleep.  THEN after that I started having crazy dreams of me dying in some building that was collapsing into the ocean.  Freaky.

  • Oh my tequila is no good.  I had about 5-6 shots of Patron with my coworkers last night along with a few kettleone and tonics and have to wake up early ass in the morning to play golf right now.  Ugg.  Sorry hun if I was rambling on last night.  Let's make sure we limit you to 3 drinks next weekend, so you don't end up like me.

  • Hello 2006!

Flying back to Dallas this week after a nice week and a half vacation.  It wasn't much of a vacation, since I slept most of the time but it was exactly what I needed.  Sometimes I just take time off not to travel somewhere but to recharge my batteries.

It's bittersweet leaving home, but I'll be back for the Lunar New Year at the end of the month.  I think I can only stand my parents in small increments.  Being at home for a week and a half was definitely too long.  Their nagging is starting to annoy me.  I'm sure you guys know how that is.  I love them to death but man, I can only take so much.

  • What a difference a year makes!  I remember it being the end of 2004 coming into 2005, and I ended up spending NYE by myself at my apt. up in NYC cooking dinner for one.  I thought at the time I'd treat myself to a good meal rather than getting shit-faced with friends out in the City.  I grilled myself up a nice kobe beef steak w/ some sides and a champagne.

Look at all that marbling!!!  I thought it might get lonely, but I actually enjoyed the time to myself.  This would be a precursor to how I would spend much of 2005.

In 2005, I ended up traveling to places that I never thought I would've ended up.  I spent a few months in Phoenix, a few weeks here and there in Minneapolis and Chicago, and have been in Dallas for the past few months.  I'll probably be here for another year, but it's fine by me.  I get to see all my friends around the country every weekend and plus I think my parents are happy cause I'm coming home more often now that I was when I was living in DC or NYC.  I'm glad my company pays for my travel!

The best thing though that happened to me in 2005 was something that I began the year and luckily ended the year with as well.  It was someone that turned one of the worst years I've had in 2004 to one of the greatest ones in 2005.  I have so many wonderful memories in 2005 because of her.  CVu, I heart you.  Hi hun haha.

Here's to a New Year with more great memories with friends and family and best wishes and hopefully a happier year to those with less not-so-fond memories.

    Cheers to 2006!
